新四军小战士顺溜在伏击汉奸司令吴大疤拉时竟打掉了自己六分区司令陈大雷的头盔。陈大雷赏识百步穿杨的神枪手顺溜，与他称兄道弟，并给顺溜起了个新名字叫“陈二雷”。在陈大雷与三营长的提拔下，顺溜屡立战功，并缴获了日军的新式狙击枪，成为了军中狙击手、战斗英雄和传奇人物，却也日益骄横，不服军命。但在一次对日军中将石原的伏击战中，顺溜为了不打草惊蛇，竟亲眼看着自己的姐姐姐夫遇害。顺溜尚未复仇，二战结束，日军宣布投降。顺溜不顾停战协议，私自前往日俘离港码头。
