Το ομώνυμο ντοκιμαντέρ παρακολουθεί την μυθική τραγουδίστρια για δύο μόνο βραδιές, όταν το 1971 αποφασίζει μαζί με τον παραγωγό της Τζέρι Γουέξλερ να επιστρέψει στις ρίζες της και να κάνει ένα άλμπουμ φόρο τιμής στα gospel τραγούδια, από όπου ξεκίνησε και την καριέρα της όταν τραγουδούσε στις λειτουργίες του πατέρα της Αιδεσιμότατου Φράνκλιν.
