Stan und Ollie sind pleite und betteln bei einer freundlichen alten Dame um Essen. Sie bietet ihnen Sandwiches. Während des Essens belauschen sie die Dame, deren Vermieter ihr mitteilt, er werde sie aus der Wohnung werfen weil sie ihre Miete nicht bezahlen könne. Die Jungs erkennen nicht, dass die alte Dame den Dialog für ein Theaterstück übt. Stan und Ollie beschließen, der alten Dame durch den Verkauf ihres Autos zu helfen. Während der Auktion legt ein Betrunkener eine Brieftasche in Stans Tasche, wonach Ollie ihn des Beraubens der alten Dame beschuldigt. Als die Wahrheit ans Licht kommt rächt sich Stan an Ollie.
