Rocky Dennis není chlapec jako každý jiný. Má od narození poruchu tváře, která mu zohyzdila celý obličej. Potýká se s posměchem a nepochopením mezi spolužáky, a proto jeho jedinou oporou by měla být matka. Ta žije ale jen ve světě motorkářů a drog. Rocky je tedy nucen se o vše starat sám, i o svou matku. Probouzí se v něm však také zájem o ženy, i když dobře ví, že mezi nimi nemá šanci. Až na slepeckém táboře, kam přijede vypomáhat, pozná Dianu, dívku svého života. Získá nové kamarády, matka přestává fetovat a vše se zdá jít k lepšímu. Bohužel jenom do doby, než mu kamarád odmítne plánovanou cestu po Evropě, než Diana odjede daleko do speciální školy a než ho začnou sužovat nesnesitelné bolesti hlavy...
